Who is NORTHSIDE COMMUNITY CHURCH?

Our Mission: "Serving the Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 20:19; Romans 12:11

Our Purpose: Northside Community Church is an evangelical, Bible-believing church Committed to serving the Lord Jesus Christ by:

  • Exalting Him through meaningful worship
  • Equipping God's people for the work of the ministry
  • Evangelizing our community and world with the Gospel
  • Edifying one another through caring fellowship
     

Our Values & Philosophy

The following values define our church and its philosophy of ministry.

1. THE PREEMINENCE OF CHRIST
The focus of the church will be the Lord Jesus Christ. To glorify Him in all we do is our reason for existing.
(1 Cor. 2:2; Phil. 1:21; Col. 1:27-29)

2. THE PRIORITY OF THE SCRIPTURES
The Scriptures are the key to the life of the Christian and the church, and will be given the highest priority.
(Josh. 1:8; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Heb. 4:12)

3. THE PROMINENCE OF PRAYER
Prayer will be emphasized. We will at all times seek the Lord's guidance in all we do.
(Acts 2:42; 6:4; Col. 4:2-4)

4. THE PROCLAMATION OF THE GOSPEL
Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others and discipling them to maturity is our mandate.
(Matt. 26:19-20; Rom. 10:8-15; 1 Cor. 9:22)

5. THE PRESENCE OF WORSHIP
The worship service will be conducted in a way that is relevant to our culture without forgetting the rich heritage of the past. Teaching, praise, prayer, giving, communion and fellowship will be essential aspects of our times together.

6. THE PLACE OF COMMUNITY
Small groups are the primary means which community and caring will be fostered.
(Acts 2:46; 12:12; 20:20)

7. THE PROVISION OF LEADERSHIP
The Church will be led by elders who, discerned and affirmed by the body, are gifted and qualified leaders.
(Rom. 12:8; 1 Tim. 3:1-10; Titus 1;5-9)

8. THE PROMOTION OF INVOLVEMENT
Each member is a vital part of the church and will be encouraged to give of his/ her gift(s),time, abilities and finances.
(Matt. 6:19-20; 25:14-30; Rom. 12:4-8 1 Cor. 12;2 Cor. 8&9;1 Peter 4:10)

9. THE PRINCIPLE OF EXCELLENCE
Excellence in all we do will be our standard.
(1 Cor. 10;31; Col. 3:17; 1 Peter 4:11)

10. THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE ANABAPTISTS
The Church will adhere to the philosophy and values of the Mennonite Brethren Conference in its Statement of Faith and Distinctives.
